Exciting Events!

Hello everyone! It sure has been a while! I am happy to announce I am blogging from my brand new laptop! I love it! A lot has been going on since my last post. My Surf Board is ALMOST done it's just been hard to finish since I work and go to school. I still work at my 3 jobs and do some side work for Jungle Roses out in Utah on occasion. The family is doing well too, Amanda and Danny (my oldest sister and her husband) are keeping bus with my beautiful nieces and nephew. Payton the oldest niece (4) just enrolled in school and will be going in the fall, the twins are crack ups and so full of energy and life, they turn two in September. Meridith (second oldest sister) Has returned from her mission to Texas and is currently living in Utah working as kindergarten teacher going to UVU. Casey (my little sister, the youngest) Just got a job at a local surf/skate store and salon and between that and her dance recitals, she is keeping busy. I got a calling as a CTR 5 year old primary teacher and it's been a blast. I have ALL boys in that class so it gets to be pretty entertaining, the only girl I have in there is able to handle it because she has a brother but sometimes I feel sorry for her for how much she has to put up with haha.

Between working three jobs, going to school at EOU, and holding my church calling, I pretty much have to fun social life unless I give up sleep, SO after talking with a few friends, co-workers, and family members, I decided I will be taking a vacation. But not just any vacation. a THREE WEEK vacation with three destinations! My first stop will be in Salt Lake city, UT where I will be there for 2 of the weeks, THEN off to Lake Powell, UT where I will be lounging on a house boat for the last week. My last stop will be Vegas (for the last couple days of vacation) where I will have fun, bypass quick civil chapel weddings (as lovely as that sounds) and fly out a couple days later. I'm pretty excited, but I know I will miss the kids I work with SO much! We'll see how it goes. I know a majority of you (ok like the 5 followers I have haha) are friends with me on facebook so you will see my pictures updated as soon as I get back! Well, I'm off to break in the computer more by doing some home work, but I hope you all had a great mothers day and enjoy the rest of this week. Take Care!

Reviving Love

What a Month! February is almost over and yet I've had so many adventures already throughout this month. I was able to go out to Utah to help my old boss with her flower shop the second week of this month and while I was out there I re-united with some old friends and room mates and even went on a couple dates! It was so much fun and I'll be excited when I can do it again soon. Then, when I returned home I was able to get some surfing in before the weather gets too cold (ok so it pretty much is already there but I sucked it up) One day I noticed that my board had taken in a little bit of water. NOT GOOD! then I noticed there was some more bruising on it (portions of the board where water has damaged the inside and where it is now sensitive) I was so sad. I may have to retire 'ol Lola. I went in to a couple different local surf shops to see what they could do and how much it would cost.

Now, I originally bought the board for 200. It's had quite a few runs in her so It's worth about 125 now. Well, the quote came. 70 dollars for JUST the re-buff , wax and two of the small dings repaired. So, that's not even including the rest of the bruising and paint job, yada yada yada. I decided to take matters into my own hands. luckily, living on the coast and near water, we have marina's and other shops that provide equipment to fix water recreational things. So, I went to a couple shops, picked up some paint, brushes, wax, buffer and pic, and went at it! it's been 3 days and this is what it looks like so far....

Before:

if you look closely you can see the spots, and if you look even CLOSER you will see the damaged nose that has wax smothered on it.

the First and second day:

I added the stripes. now, the BLACK is JUST TAPE to seperate the pink stripe from the yellow base color , it's not actual paint haha but It did look a little cool and made me think to add black stripes to it too. and finally....

the third day (today):

I added part of the flower and vines. Now this is all done by hand so it's going to take time. I still have a lot to do. When you are re-painting a surf board, or boat or anything that is going to be in water, especially SALT water, you have to use acrylic based MARINE paint. a lot of people were telling me to go to wal*mart. which I could do for normal acrylic paint but that would wash off with the salt water after 1 use. It's not too expensive, about 8 dollars for a quart. If you're paying anything more than that you are getting jipped or probably just live in a super small town where they can charge you a lot. =) Anyways, I'm WAY excited. I still have to add the details to the flower and Vines and then paint the back side. I should be completely done by the end of the month. then it will be all ready to ride this summer! (even though I'll be at school, I will still visit and go surfing a lot) So I'm excited! I'll have to show you all how it turns out.

So THIS is what Growing up is like...

Well, It's been a while that's for sure! Christmas was great, I got great gifts and due to working 3 jobs I was able to spoil my family in return, especially my Parents, they sure do deserve it! Since Christmas things have been great, I've been working, spending time with the family and learning new things. ON THAT NOTE: Last night I was able to call up an old friend from Utah. As the two of us talked we shared stories about what had been going on with our lives, what's new and all that fun stuff. Suddenly he brought up a subject I was trying pretty hard to avoid. He asked me how everything was going since this "incident" and I started talking to him about my feelings, what I experienced, what I've learned, and what I am going on to do. There was about 10 seconds of awkward silence when he says "Chelsey.... you have grown SO much, it's amazing." trying to figure out how "immature" I exactly was when I last saw him 8 months ago, he goes on to tell me that I wasn't immature, I just wasn't as knowledgeable as I seem to be now, and he notices I am a stronger , wiser person. It was a great compliment that has me thinking I must be doing something right. I've been thinking back to when I first moved home and how wishy-washy I was about everything, My goals, My love life, my dream and aspirations and I realized since then I have found myself indulging in more adult conversation, feeding my hunger for knowledge and doing things that allow me to expand my mind capacity. It's been great and I've been blessed enough with family and friends who remind me what I am capable of daily.
(Playing at the Park with Sophia and Olivia)

Work is going great, I haven't been working my third job that much, and my hours at the other two are slowing down but it's been nice to have Sundays off and still find time to spend with the family and go to the Temple 3 hours away. My job #1 as a full time Nanny is fun. I haven't met that many people who love waking up for work and get paid to play and bake goodies. It's a blast! I especially love the job because I am always doing something and learning new things. I would have to say the best thing about my job is how it teaches me better "domestic" skills. The parents are young but own there own business so they are always running around and don't have time for much. Finally I told Autumn (my boss, the Wife/mom) that she can feel free to leave a list of chores for me to get done while the girls are sleeping. Well, that she did! I finding my self doing chores I barely do around my house! but it's been nice because I come home and want to scrub and clean everything! (My mom doesn't complain at all of course) I thought I was good at multi-tasking before but this is a whole new level. The girls are getting really good at potty training, learning colors, words and numbers, while in return they teach me patience. I've always been a pretty patient person, but this definitely taught me. All those years of praying for patience is slowly coming to me ;) The other day I took the girls and My niece Payton to a local aquarium and got a couple "you look great for having 3 Children!" it was pretty funny. I got that same compliment a second time this last weekend on our temple trip when I took my twin niece and nephew and Payton to the mall. crazy crazy.

(My 4 year old Niece Payton, the blonde, playing with the girls I watch who decided to dress themselves that day, Sophia 3 and Olivia 1 3/4, they helped me let the chickens out!)

Besides those wonderful events Life is going pretty good. I've lost weight, got better and spiritual exercise and learning some more self improvement. As long as you look at everything in the glass half full and know it can be worse you're going to be ok! The last news update I have is that I am no longer going to SDSU, after praying I realized I needed to be in another area. So I've applied to a University that I believe is the one. we will see and I will update all of you as soon as I get my acceptance (hopefully) Letter. Until then, Love your Life, Smile often, and know you're loved!

Merry Christmas!

Well, Merry Christmas Eve AND Christmas everyone! Things have been so hectic lately! I've been working 3 jobs, spending time with my family and the surf, and trying to get adjusted before I move off to a new University, which I will start in March =D ! I'm pretty excited. So, Story of the day;

For those of you who have been to my house, you know that our driveway is very long and has our mailbox at the end of it. Well, you also know that there is a slight hill/dip at then end of it as well. WELL I was getting off work one day, and I decided to pull up next to the mail box, and get the mail. I pull up, put the truck in park, and step out the door. JUST THEN the truck door (which are super heavy since my Dad got new ones) shut on me, closing my hip, and part of my leg and arm in it - I was pinned. Then the truck started rolling backwards. It was so scary and I thought I was going to get pretty messed up. Luckily I managed to pry the door open and stop the truck. I was so blessed to be able to get out, but that feeling was quickly over powered by horrible pain. I plan on going to the doctor soon because the swelling, bruising and pain hasn't gotten any better. But until then I'm enjoying the time I have with family and glad that was all that happened!

Anyways, that's my blog and Story for the day. Hope your holiday's are the best and you are surrounded with love!

what a year, what a year!

HOLA! it's been a great while. Well a lot has happened since the last blog. obviously. but it's been fun. I have been watching/nannying for this family back home and it's been so much fun! The kids are great and the Money is up there- AND- I recently got a second job working at the old restaurant I worked at before I left to Utah. It's so much fun. The best part is, an old high school buddy of mine is pretty much running the restaurant and told me he'd hire me over the bakery portion. I'm so Excited! I will be in Pastry heaven! Also. MERIDITH IS HOME! my long lost sister who has been on a mission the last 1 1/2! it has been pretty hectic around the house but I love these moments. Meridith got a job with the school district Substituting and tutoring until she moves to Utah in January. We are actually going down near the San Diego area to see one of the Elders she served with give his homecoming Talk. I'm pretty excited because I LOVE that area and almost went there for school. We'll see if that's where I'm going to live next as I check out the area. PLUS it's a home to my FAVORITE temple. Anyways, Funny story time.

Thursday Night we carved pumpkins for the enrichment activity. I was asked to help so I showed up supervising to make sure none of the kids cut themselves with the carving knives. Well good news is- no one got hurt.....with a carving knife... I was asked to carve the extra pumpkin that had been left. So as I put as much as my "creativity" into this pumpkin as I could- I was so proud of the outcome. I had actually done an awesome job! that's rare. As I put the pumpkin with a silhouette of a witch flying passed the moon up onto the stage, I was sadden by what happened next...the very fragile witch's head, fell off. I realized this could be a quick fix with a few toothpicks, so I go into the kitchen looking, but didn't find any. I thought to myself "hmmmm, what could I improvise a toothpick with?" ah-ha! Plastic fork prongs! I am about to pull the plastic prongs off of the fork when I remember that it hurts your fingertips when you do. so thinking I out-smarted the situation, I decide to put the curved end of the fork upwards, on the edge of the counter, push down with my fist, and hold the prongs with my other hand....bad idea. I put pressure on the fork and the prongs break off, but what does the rest of the jagged fork do? comes up and slits my wrist! downwards (which apparently is worse than side to side)and blood gushes out EVERYWHERE! just thinking it is nothing to be worried about, I immediately grab a paper towel and apply pressure. Later on my dad comes into the kitchen and helps and we manage to bandage it up. While debating about going to the hospital, thoughts come through my head... could you imagine sitting there with slit wrist and explaining to the doctor "No seriously Doc, I was carving pumpkins at a church activity when we were out of toothpicks, so I take this plastic fork right?...." meanwhile they put me on suicide watch and send me to a shrink! haha

anyways...maybe I'll find that more amusing than others but it just goes to show you you can never be too careful...and just when you think you are...you're wrong. OH! last note for the night. Meridith Dyed my hair...so here are some pictures!

Loving the Country! (pics come later)

HI EVERYONE! It's been a while since I've been on here! Well a lo has happened since my last post but just an update. I've been in North Dakota for the last week and a half and Love it! it is SO beautiful out here! While most of the people I tell that to that live out here say "oh well just wait until the winter time!" I still am amazed by the beauty. Sine I've been here Stuart and I have been up to Lake Metigoshe to spend time and go boating with the billings, gone swimming in a couple of rivers, seen fort Lincoln (which is also the Home of General Custer for a while) been to a few of the museums and site seeing. We also managed to boat up to Canada which was awesome. It's been so fun being here, and I've been blessed with meeting the people I have, and visited the places I've been. I leave Saturday night and know I am going to be so sad!! =( But I am grateful I was even able to come here in the firs place. Seeing Stuart after the longest 3 weeks of my life was so rewarding! I would also like to thank Nancy and Kent Danielson for there sweet hearts and spoiling me. And Lindsey Billings and Collete Owen for giving me a place to stay. They are the funnest. Anyways, I'm sure my grammer was off this blog but I was in a rush - need to be doing fun things before my trip is over, what's on the schedule today? Fun with the Danielson family, Institute and tomorrow? GOING TO TUTTLE TO SEE THE FAMILY FARM! until then!
